Sandal season is coming, and there's nothing quite like the feeling of freshly pampered feet. But frequent salon visits add up fast. The good news? You can get soft, hydrated, salon-worthy feet at home with a few good products and about 30 minutes.
Here's exactly how we do it.
What You'll Need
Foot bath or basin with warm water
Pumice stone or foot file
Foot soak or salts
Nail clippers, file, cuticle tool
Exfoliating body scrub
Foot cream with urea
Clean nail polish and top coat
Step 1: Soak and Relax
Fill a foot bath or basin with warm water and settle in. You can customize your soak depending on what your feet need. Some people swear by vinegar or lemon juice; others go straight for Epsom salts. We use a few tablespoons of our Lemon Peppermint Foot Soak, which combines Epsom and Dead Sea Salt with cooling peppermint to soothe tired, achy feet and lemon to naturally refresh and deodorize.
Soak for 10 to 15 minutes. Put on a playlist, pour yourself some tea, and actually relax. This part matters.
Pro tip: If you've been on your feet all day, this soak is a game-changer for softening rough skin before you even pick up a scrub.
Step 2: Exfoliate for Baby-Soft Feet
We believe in a two-step exfoliation process, and once you try it you won't go back. Start with a good gritty scrub all over your feet and calves. This feels amazing and gets into areas where a pumice stone would be too harsh. Our Exfoliating Body Scrub works beautifully here: it sloughs off dead skin while leaving behind a nourishing blend of oils so your feet feel soft, not stripped.
After the scrub, follow up with a pumice stone or foot file on your heels and any tough spots. Rinse clean and pat dry.
Step 3: Hydrate and Protect
Freshly exfoliated skin absorbs moisture better than anything, so this is the moment to lock it in. Look for a foot cream with urea, which works to smooth and repair even the driest, most cracked heels. Our Lemon Peppermint Foot Cream combines urea and shea butter to soften calluses and rough patches with that same fresh, cooling scent from the soak.
Doing this at night? Apply a generous layer and sleep in a pair of socks. You'll wake up to noticeably softer feet.
Step 4: Choose Clean Nail Polish
Before any polish, trim and file your nails, gently push back cuticles (never cut them!), and wipe nails with remover to clear any oils. Then reach for a clean, non-toxic polish. Traditional nail polishes can contain formaldehyde, toluene, and other harsh chemicals you don't want sitting on your nails. We love Zoya and Olive & June for clean options. Finish with a quick-drying top coat, and once everything is dry, apply one final layer of foot cream to keep the skin hydrated and healthy.
On-the-go refresh: Our Lemon Peppermint Foot Spray delivers an instant cooling effect that's perfect for hot days or long hours on your feet. Toss it in your bag and use it whenever you need a pick-me-up.
