The texture is smooth and silky. The patchouli scent is mild and pleasant. Initially, the square bar is a bit awkward to handle and after use smooths into a manageable bar of soap.

It's everything you would want in a rejuvenating lotion. I wish it smelled more like Patchouli though. If it did it would be a 100% off the chart hit. It smells more piney than patchouli.

I’ve used Hudson Valley Skin Care soaps and lotions for years and love both. The lotions go on smoothly, absorb quickly and are beautifully moisturizing. I don’t do florals but the other scents are light and really nice. Both the soaps and lotions are kind to my sometimes sensitive skin. My only complaint is the lotion packaging. Really wish they would find an environmentally kinder packaging than plastic and the pump only works to distribute the first 2/3 of the bottle - after that you have to store the bottle upside down and remove the pump each time to access it, which can be messy. Different packaging and this would have definitely been a five star rating.

So far this balm has worked very well for me. It is not heavy or greasy, yet does a great job of moisturizing. I use it on my face and lips. I love the scent too. You can feel the quality.
